Die protection with strain sensors

Strain sensors determine the closing force by measuring the deflection of the fixed plate. Very accurate measurement results are achieved both cyclically and statically. The sensors are “state of the art” and easy to install. A large variety of types allows installation under different spatial conditions. The sensors are available with different standard interfaces.

The calibration/verification of the closing force is performed via a high load cylinder and compares the indicated closing force with the actual (real) closing force. Forces of up to 5000kN are measured. High-load cylinders operate linearly, they are overload-proof and very robust. They can be connected directly to the display units of X-SENSORS.

A functioning form protection protects tool and machine. At the same time a very sensitive force measurement can be achieved with the X-SENSORS sensors. Even caps of PET bottles are not destroyed, because two sensors are used, which measure the force flow in the lower and upper flap area. In this way, collisions are detected over the entire mold area.

Injection pressure after the mixing screw

The measurement of the injection pressure downstream of the screw conveyor is very linear and zero-point stable. The sensors are FEM-optimized and robust up to 150 percent. They have outputs and can be precisely adjusted to the required injection force. The sensors are very temperature stable and allow maximum consistency of the shot weight.

Clamping pressure calibration

The nozzle system force is measured directly at the injection hopper. The sensors measure forces of up to 200kN with a very high resolution. They are overload-proof and temperature-stable. The installation is done with a magnetic base by a very comfortable plug-and-play solution in a very short time.

The measurement of the real nozzle pressure, which is carried out directly at the nozzle in the screw antechamber in the liquid melt, allows the comparison with the injection pressure. The sensors measure pressures up to 3000 bar and temperatures up to 350 °C with a resolution of up to 1 bar and 1 °C, respectively. They are easy to handle and have a digital interface for recorders.
