Installation-Zero for static applications with automatic zero point adjustment

What is an Installation-Zero?

These strain sensors are suitable for static measurements, for example at the monitoring of structures or in the weight measurement of silos. Depending on the mounting of the strain sensor, the zero point is slightly shifted. Thanks to the digital input, the zero point adjustment can be easily teached-in by the PLC, even though the strain sensor is mounted at a place difficult to reach.

The zero point adjustment can be triggered via the PLC. If the input is pulled to >10 V, the signal is set to zero (reset) and the zero point adjustment is carried out. If the input is open or 0V, the sensor is in measuring mode. The reset logic is alternatively available with “Active-High-Levels” instead of “Active-Low-Levels”.

The zero point adjustment at these strain sensors is carried out by a digital zero point adjustment mechanism. The zero point adjustment is stored permanently, it is not lost after a power off. It provides a non-volatile, stable zero point (intallation tara). Therefore, it is qualified for all static applications. The numbers of tarings is limited to 100.000.
