Strain sensors without integrated zero point adjustment are suitable for static and cyclic applications.
It should be noted that the force-type connection between the strain sensor and the machine component varies slightly from one sensor mounting to another. As a result, the zero point and the span from installation to installation is minimal different.
Because the strain sensors have a different zero offset depending on the mounting, this offset must be taken into account in the PLC. For this purpose, the zero point can be easily measured after installation by the PLC. Afterwards, the current sensor signal can be simply corrected in the PLC by detracting the installation offset.
The strain transducers without integrated zero point adjustment are always suitable if the PLC itself is responsible for the zero point correction. These strain sensors are characterized by an excellent price-performance ratio.
