With mounting plate

The load cell X-138-P comes with a mounting plate. This design offers the possibility to mount the button force sensor from the top with 4 screws. The force transducer is suitable for universal use in industrial force measurement and can be used for static and dynamic processes. The force is applied centrally in the range of 3 – 500 kN and is measured via the force application button.

The miniature force sensor comes in a variety of sizes depending on the force range, from Ø 74 x 41 mm to Ø 132 x 97 mm. The compression force sensor has an encapsulated IP65 stainless steel housing. This allows the sensor to be used even under harsh environmental conditions. The force application takes place centrically and is carried out via the spherical force application button (Button).

Electrical connection

The force sensors from X-Sensors are based on a strain gauge full bridge with strain gauges. The output signal for this sensor is specified in mV/V. Various input modules of controllers already allow the direct connection of force sensors with strain gauge full bridge.

Additionally, measuring amplifiers with voltage output (0-10 V) and current output (4-20 mA) are available, which amplify the strain gauge full bridges accordingly. The measuring amplifiers are available in a robust field housing or for DIN rail mounting. Brand new is the compact inline amplifier X-201-IN09 from X-Sensors, which can be used universally for static and cyclic measurements and offers an excellent price-performance ratio.

Mechanical connection / design

The advantages of button compression force sensors are the easy mounting and the precise force application via the sensor. This type of force sensor is suitable whenever compressive force is to be measured. The flat design of the load cell has the perfect characteristics for installation in confined spaces. The various load cells are universally applicable and are used in the fields of measuring and testing technology, industrial process control, press-in force measurement, machine control, special machine construction, tool construction, and machine condition monitoring.

The mounting of the force sensors with spherical load introduction knob is fast and uncomplicated. The sensor is screwed on from below on one side and then measures the force acting on the button. A custom version for screwing from above is available. The surface on which the force sensor is mounted must be flat and sufficiently rigid to not deform during loading.
