Baumer acquires X-Sensors AG, a force sensor specialist
Baumer is expanding its position in force and strain measurement. At the start of SINDEX in Bern, the sensor specialist announced the acquisition of the Swiss company X-Sensors AG. X-Sensors has been developing and producing high-precision force and strain sensors for leading OEMs in specialized applications for 25 years.
With the acquisition of X-Sensors, Baumer is broadening its powerful portfolio in force and strain sensor technology and, by merging its development teams, increasing its innovative strength in this field.
“Force and strain sensor technology is experiencing a tremendous innovation boost thanks to the use of smart electronics and IO-Link. Intelligent solutions are thus becoming simpler and more cost-effective for users. As an innovative sensor specialist, Baumer will play a key role in driving this development forward. The acquisition of X-Sensors AG accelerates this process,” says Dr. Oliver Vietze, CEO of the Baumer Group.
Until further notice, customers will be served through existing sales channels. In the medium term, the X-Sensors product range will be integrated into the Baumer portfolio.
