Miniature force transducer XCM-171

Compression force transducer with through-hole for simple measurement of clamping forces and pressing forces in the force range 10-80 kN. Compact Ø 36-48 mm.

The XCM-171 miniature force transducer is suitable for force measurement in applications where high accuracies and very stiff measuring bodies are required. The strain gauge force sensor has a diameter of 36-48 mm, depending on the version.

The compression force sensors work precisely in the force range of 10-80 kN, depending on the model. The force is applied centrally via the force ring of the force transducer.

The robust design of the compression load cell and the option to integrate a second, redundant measuring bridge make this series particularly suitable for safety-related applications in plants and structures.


  • Through bore for easy measurement of clamping forces and pressing forces
  • Inner diameters correspond to standard thread sizes (M12 / M16 / M20 / M24), therefore can be used as “measuring washer
  • Solid and compact steel housing with very small measuring distance

Electrical connection

The force sensors from X-Sensors are based on a strain gauge full bridge with strain gauges. The output signal for this sensor is specified in mV/V. Various input modules of controllers already allow the direct connection of force sensors with strain gauge full bridge.

Additionally, measuring amplifiers with voltage output (0-10 V) and current output (4-20 mA) are available, which amplify the strain gauge full bridges accordingly. The measuring amplifiers are available in a robust field housing or for DIN rail mounting. Brand new is the compact inline amplifier X-201-IN09 from X-Sensors, which can be used universally for static and cyclic measurements and offers an excellent price-performance ratio.

Mechanical connection / design

The load cell can be mounted on a threaded rod, bolt, screw, or similar.

Due to the extremely compact design and the high accuracy, the miniature compression load sensors are particularly suitable for the following applications:

  • Monitoring of press-fit, joining, riveting and stamping processes.
  • Test and inspection equipment
  • Pre tensioning of screws and threaded rods
