Strain Transducer X-113-7

particularly suitable for static applications

For accurate measurements of weight changes

A static force measurement refers to the measurement of constant, stationary force loads. Strain Sensors for static measurements are particularly suitable for monitoring or weight measurements. Due to the digital input, the zero point adjustment can be conveniently taught in via the control unit in a captive manner. The Strain Sensor can be used for the following applications:

  • Weight measurement via strains in load-bearing elements enable flexible retrofitting of existing systems
  • Determination of mechanical loads for component analyses and component design
  • Limit value monitoring and monitoring of mechanical loads to avoid critical overloads

Our Strain Transducers reliably measure even the smallest strains on the surface of flat structures. Despite the simple screw-on mounting, the measured values are comparable to glued-on strain gauges, avoiding their disadvantages. Thanks to the integrated, extremely low-noise and highly stable signal Amplifier, the Sensor can be used easily and universally.

Characteristics

  • For static applications
  • With external reset or tare control input for zero point adjustment 🠖 Zero point correction is stored captive
  • Reliable measurement of smallest strains on rigid structures
  • With integrated measuring amplifier with either ± 10 V or 4-20 mA as robust output signal

Measuring principle

How it works

The Strain Sensor X-113-7 detects the strain between the two screw-on surfaces and amplifies it mechanically. This concentrates the strain on the measuring point, where it can be easily detected with a resistive measuring bridge. The integrated bridge Amplifier takes care of signal conditioning and provides a uniform, robust output signal. The solid steel housing and the tight design (IP64) guarantee problem-free operation, even under difficult environmental conditions.

Regardless of the nominal forces, Strain Transducers are very compact in dimensions and easy to install. Since the sensors are installed on the machine component outside the working space, they are an elegant alternative to conventional Force Sensors even in limited space conditions.

Zero point taring

The zero point adjustment of these Strain Sensors is done by a digital zero point adjustment mechanism. The zero point setting is permanently stored, i.e. the zero point correction is available again even after switching off. Thus, a permanently available Installation-Tare is available. Therefore, these Strain Sensors are suitable for all static applications. The number of taring operations is limited to 100,000.

Zero adjustment is triggered via an external reset or tare control input. The mechanism is available with “Active Low” and “Active High” logic.
