Strain gauge sensors without an integrated measuring amplifier are particularly suitable for applications where the full bridge signal mV/V is required or where several sensors have to be connected to one measuring amplifier. This can be the case, for example, when measuring the weight of silos and monitoring several tie bars on presses.

The strain transducers are ideally suited for use in the following areas:

  • Measurement, monitoring and control of forces in forming technology
  • Weight measurement on beams or supports
  • Measurement of smallest strains on rigid structures for analysis of mechanical loads

X-Sensors strain transducers reliably measure even small strains on the surface of flat structures. Despite the simple screw-on mounting, the measured values are comparable to glued-on strain gauges, while avoiding their disadvantages.

Measuring principle

How it works

The surface strain sensor X-103-S05 detects the strain between the two screw-on surfaces and amplifies it mechanically. This concentrates the strain on the measuring point, where it is converted into an electrical signal by means of a resistive measuring bridge. The solid steel housing and the tight design (IP65) guarantee problem-free operation, even under difficult environmental conditions.
