The XCR-171 series Force Transducer is suitable for reference force measurements in applications where high accuracies and low lateral force sensitivities are required.
The reference transducers can be supplied with an officially recognised calibration certificate on request. The Force Sensors are based on proven strain gauge technology and provide a linear signal proportional to the applied compressive force.
Due to the robust construction of the Pressure Force Transducer and the two carrying handles, the Pressure Load Cell is very easy to transport to different places of use.
The dimensions of the strain gauge Force Sensor are 158 mm in diameter, depending on the version.

Connected to a Display Unit, the high-load compression Force Transducer is ideal for taking reference measurements:

  • Checking the maximum pressing force (peak value measurement)
  • Calibration of strain sensors for indirect force measurements
  • Reference measurement of the press force
  • Calibration of the closing force
  • Verification of load distribution on large platforms

Installation and deployment

Electrical connection

The Force Sensors from X-Sensors are based on a strain gauge full bridge with strain gauges. The output signal for this Sensor is specified in mV/V. Various input modules of controllers already allow the direct connection of Force Sensors with strain gauge full bridge.

In addition, measuring Amplifiers with voltage output (0-10 V) and current output (4-20 mA) are available, which amplify the strain gauge full bridges accordingly. The measuring Amplifiers are available in a robust field housing, for DIN rail mounting or in an inline housing.

Mechanical connection / design

The advantages of the compression Force Sensors are the easy handling. The force acting centrically from above is measured. The various Force Sensors are versatile and are used in the areas of material testing machines, hardness testers, measurement of compressive forces, reference force measurements, press-in force control and as load cells.

The mounting of the strain gauge Force Sensors is uncomplicated, either via the thread, the inner diameter or via the prefabricated holes, depending on the model.
